My original letter was meant to gain further knowledge of common errors etc.I have done the same in the past with other brands of SMT equipment and learned from hearing others problems.Once again I am truly sorry for the way I worded my first letter, and would like to say my overall experience so far with Philips has been great.

Sincerely, Kevin Simpson

I don't have FCM machines but I do have an Emerald and a Topaz. In comparison to existing Fuji equipment (in my plant) I can tell you my topaz runs 41 percent faster on the same product vs its Fuji counterpart. In general I have had a wonderful experience with Philips in the last 9 months. If you are having difficulty, try the application or R&D guys. They can come to your site and help you form a strategy. I have done this several times and it is deffinately worth the money. Besides, these guys are the real experts on the equipment! PS their phone support is a great resource as well..

Sounds like your arm might have been twisted alittle bit on your second posting. Too bad..Maybe the guys at Phillips got alittle upset. My experiences with Phillips and Fuji have been just the opposite as Dean's. Our Fuji lines run circles around the Phillips and the Panasonic lines in our plants. The speed, accuracy and efficiency levels of the Fuji lines are unmatched. We use a mix of these lines in all volumes and have the same results. Not that my statement has anything to do with Kevin's original question, but I'm just sensing that the people from Phillips might have gotten upset because it was perceived that they were compared to the Company thats made this industry what it is today as far as SMT Manufacturing is concerned.

Should work great.

Recently, I have had much contact with Fuji. Except for their "closed" or proprietary nature, it was a good experience. Just wish FujiCam and UniCam would get it together. Sorry Scott, but I know you are working hard on it.

There are so many driving forces in the industry today (oem and CM) it is easy to forget the fore runners to modern smt P&P. To prove this point, most smt lines use a mix of machine suppliers. No one equipment manufacturer makes the best of everything (but claim to) and for my performance dollar I will chose the equipment which meets the minimum performance spec at the lowest cost.

Respectfully, Dean PS Kevin, keep us posted on your progress. Regail us with your smt trials and tribulations.
