Again, I really appreciate the valuable input you all provided. Got my Air-Vac SRM4 machine Friday afternoon. Stored it safely in my cube over the week-end for safe keeping. Tried to find 220V single phase next to air with no luck yesterday. Electrician installed recepticle late afternoon. Came in at 0600 and fired up the little beauty. After solder pot warm-up and adjustments, burned the board and removed nearly all solder - AS ADVERTISED.

I need a little more tweaking and perfection. The connector went into nearly all holes immediately. After tweaking, it will be reflowed as the next test of solderability concerning such thermal mass.

I'll keep you posted before moving ont to a bigger project with a 30 plus layer board exceeding .150" thick loaded with DIMMS and CCGA's.

Great input now for the follow up. The thing works. After toiling to develop a brand new process, over three hours, the thing works.

Of course, without my incredible talents and efforts, it never would have done it. BS, this machine melted solder fast, made removal easy and, most amazing to me, actually cleaned out those little tiny holes in a flash.

Now, back to DFM/CE. Probably not as there are some real heat soakers waiting for me and whatever other machine is available.

Besides, they are where our future is, they will make our factory run better.... Oops, attitude slipped.

Glad it worked for you, they make pretty good products.
