Where can I purchase a PCB with a bare copper grid for solder flux evaluations.

I have looked through the IPC web page and surfed to frustration. Can somebody give me a lead?

3 Solder Wetting Test. Recognize that the following test is not a measure of how well a component pad will wet in production. It is a relative comparison of how well pastes wet.

3.1 Obtain a stencil with 15 to 20 rows of a series of 0.025 by 0.050 inch apertures spaced 0.050, 0.040, 0.025, 0.015, 0.010, 0.010, 0.025, 0.040, 0.050 inches apart. See Appendix 1. Source of supply: Metal Etching Technology.

3.2 Clean (i.e., chemically or with abrasion) the tarnish from a sheet of bare copper laminate.

3.3 Print the paste on the laminate.

3.4 Reflow solder the laminate using the paste manufacturer�s recommended profile.

3.5 Clean the laminate with isopropyl alcohol.

3.6 Inspect the solder fillet at X10 magnification.

3.7 Describe the fillet and the location of bridging between fillets. Ideally, there should be no bridging.

3.8 Quality Assurance may elect to archive the laminate.

Note: This test can be modified to evaluate solder pastes, routinely used with HASL boards, on organic solder protectant (OSP) coated laminates.
