| We are finding solder shorts under 1206 Components on the bottom side of our boards. In all cases these shorts are from either side of the component to a feed-thru under the component body. Adhesive is used to glue down the component and then the boards are wave soldered. The adhesive does cover the feed-thru and is cured so I am at a loss as to how exactly this is happening. Any insight or solutions would be appreciated. | Chris: Ya got me!!! Some questions:
1 What makes you so sure the glue is preventing the wave solder from getting to the via? 2 What's between the via and the solder mask? I assume there's solder mask. Yea, what kind?? Is the via plugged? Yea, with what? 3 So, what's the extent of this problem? 4 Hey, why don't you get the connection sectioned to get a better idea of how the solder connection to the via is being made?
Good luck
