Chart of SMT Component styles/packaging | 15 October, 1999

We are looking for a poster or chart that lists all types of SMT component package types available today. This chart would include a picture of the component, a brief description of the component, and maybe some dimensions.

Does this exist?

Please help.

we did this for pad design of pcb and can also use it off- line programming for mounter. we had checked out all the component we used in our factory. we sorted 600 kinds parts using part size(L,W,T) ,number of lead ,shape with over 6,000 parts. and made cd including all the information. we had spended a lot of time for this more than i expected. i guess if you try to do for this. you have to do by yourself. sorry . you need lots of assistance we get it done over 1 year with 3 woman good luck.

I suggest that you get a copy of IPC -SM-782A 'Surface Mount Design and Land Pattern Standard'. This gives component dimensions and recommended land patterns for nearl all surface mount components. You could also benmefit from a copy of TopLine Dummy Components catalogue which gives you most of the package dimensions. Good Luck! Bill.
