stand-up axial resistors | 30 November, 1999

i have a large job that has quite a few stand-up axial resistors on it and i am looking for a way to prep them

does anyone know of: - a service that does this type of preforming, - a fairly inexpensive machine capable of stand-up preforming

please let me know

Hi, you could try "www.streckfuss.com". I cant imagine what is meant by "fairly inexpensive". That kinda stuff you can get used, maybe someone does have one of these dustcollectors laying around.

good luck Wolfgang

Listed in the archive are suppliers of lead forming equipment. Most have equipment that can do the stand-ups you require.

Yes you may be able to find this used.

Yes you may be able to find someone with that machine near you who after you buy the tooling you require will let you use their machine.

Yes there are pliers that can be used to form stand-ups.

Good luck

It is also possible to use standoffs to provide the board spacing. There are permanent types and washaway types. This eliminates the need for special prepping of components. The operator slides the bead over the lead prior to installation. I have used both types successfully.
