hi guys. i looking for to reduce the cycle time as much as possible. but i dont want to increase the the fault or misalignment so i need to know the best delay time for pickup delay & place delay for smd package or part . i need your help & experience . thanks a lot .

Will be based on package. For passive parts I will try with 0sec. For part that you see problems picking up or placing, you should start increase these until you get it right.

Is this really where you are losing most of your time?

Make sure your machine is optimized ie gang pickup, multiple feeders, feeder placement, etc..

As Evtimov mentioned, it will be dependent on package. It will also be dependent on the specifics of your machines so there is no universal "good" value. You will need to experiment to find the best values for your equipment and components.

I would start with 0 delay for pickup and placement then watch what happens. If your pickup delay isn't long enough, you will have increased miss picks, vision errors, and parts left in the tape or spilled around the feeder.

For placement errors, if your delay is too short there won't be enough time for the vacuum to reverse and parts will stick to the nozzle. you will see spilled parts on your board, and locations that are missing parts, but will have indentions in the paste from the part being placed, then pulled back off by the nozzle.

Just keep increasing your delay times until those errors go away.

Doing regular maintenance will usually make a bigger difference than reducing delay time.

dwl is right. You just have to spend some time to play with all the ones that causing the most delay. I would say the timing for X & Y axis try to set to max speed first (as long as not drops before placing). Then, slowly increase the Z speed until you have a balance of less delay but good pick ratio.
