Coating Machine SCS 4398 Software issue

I have a SCS-4398 coating machine software ver:2.04E. This morning when the operator starter the machine instead of reaching out to its Home position the spray head started to hit the opposite end several times in small cyclic distance. Screen is displaying error: Firmware cannot download the .mint program. Servo motor and I/O panel wiring all checked !

I have removed CPU from machine now and no idea what might be wrong with the machine. Could the software been corrupt or that indicates a hardware failure?
