Looking for repair/service company for electrovert bravo 8 reflow oven | 20 June, 2017

We have a Speedline Electrovert Bravo 8 reflow oven. We have issues where we get a "thermal runaway HTSC trip" error and the oven shuts down. We normally can unplug and replug a connector into the Sensor/Relay Watlow AnaFaze TLM-8 module and it starts working again. However the last time it did not. We found a replacement Watlow AnaFaze module on ebay , ordered and replaced it with no improvement. I am looking for suggestions to root cause and fix or reasonable service companies to come out immediately to resolve. Thanks

I'm going to guess that you've tried Speedline with no success. They're awfully annoying about their older machines.

Things to check: - Thermistor for the zone working properly? - Opto for the zone working correctly? - Heaters working correctly? - All fans running correctly? Don't under-estimate this one. We had one of the axial fans in the hood that was failing, which caused thermal runaway.

If all of that fails...see if you can find a broker near you that sells them. Those guys tend to have their own tech's, and do service calls.

Cheers, ..rob

Kelly, it's been a long while since I repaired a BRAVO. The machine was a little unique as far as Electrovert ovens go. I am pretty sure that it is the only Speedline model that integrated a PLC. Loved the OMNI's, not so much with the Bravos.

I am going by memory here so forgive me if I am little off with my facts. I don't have a manual with me, but I think there are two Watlows for the thermal runaway circuit? I also believe there are some LED's on each device that indicate the faulty input? The thermal runaway circuit is an additional sub system of a reflow oven that has nothing to do with normal operation or process. It is made up of an additional set of thermocouples or thermistors to detect a zone thermal runaway. A fault condition will turn off the reflow oven so it doesn't catch on fire.

Send me an email and let me know where you're located and I if I am traveling anywhere close maybe I could arrange to stop in and take a look.
