Having issues with a Flexlink F1700

Having issues with a Flexlink F1700 | 1 March, 2017

I have an older Flexlink F1700 that I am having issues with and am hoping someone might have a fix for it.

The issue is that the machine will initialize when you turn it on, meaning the belts will spin. However, it never returns to its 'home' position to pickup boards. The conveyor is sitting about halfway up from the bottom but never goes any higher.

It appears that all of the home switches and gap sensors work fine, as I can actuate them and see the input go on/off on the PLC. Any thoughts on what is preventing this machine from going to the home position?

Anyone in Michigan that works on these?

I assume that not all switches are fine, or tuned right. Check sensitivity - some switch might be sensing much earlier, and that's why never goes to actual position. In general their equipment has the right design, but I had to fix each individual piece to make them work(really poor quality control)

I ended up finding that the laser switch on the exit side was actually getting tripped by the conveyor itself. Had to move the beam to be between the belts and it started working properly again.

It seems like the 'fixed' conveyor side actually came a little loose due to a board jam and got in the path of the laser.
