Looking for input on Heller 1900WN reflow ovens | 5 January, 2000

I have the opportunity to pick up a used 1998 Heller 1900WN reflow. I have no experience working with Heller reflows, nor have I heard much about them, so I don't know if they are good quality machines or not. I have concerns about issues such as zone side-to-side thermal balance, profile stability, ease of use, and maintenance. I am asking if anyone can provide some information or comments on this. Thank you.

hi glenn

i have had nothing but good experiences with Heller. As far as i have seen they have very even heat characteristics, great profiling and overall low maintenance.

I am very happy with heller and they are my oven of choice right now..

Glenn: Greg's comments about Heller ovens are well taken. Heller sells more ovens than anyone. Beyond his and others general comments, you should be aware of concerns about buying used equipment. Suggestions are:

1 Check the temperatures of concern about in the specific oven you intend to purchase. 2 Talk to either Dave Jenkins or Marc Peo at Heller (201.377.6800fax3862) to get the straight poop on the oven. 3 Review SMTnet archives on purchasing used equipment.
