Industrial engineering point of view for Rack assembly with 10 units in a bay | 29 August, 2016

Hi all, Currently one of our customer has ask to build server units, around 500 units in a week(mechanical assy & testing), the data we have is BOM... bay consists of 10 units. Need help on Industrial engg point of view on handling and assembling the units. i.e tools and equipment's and other requirements needed. Can any one help me on this.

Bud, hard to say without looking at bom / drawings & what manning you have avaiable to figure out what you need to put in place to get the build rate you need. is the cabinate supplied as is or do you have to build that as well?

You'll need some electric / pneumatic torque drivers, it's good to build the modules on a roller bed with the unit on a base board that slides along to create a slide line, at the end of the slide you could think about a suction lift to lift the unit off & into the rack. drop me a note if you want to discuss more, I have some experience in building units like this many years ago in a contract house.
