now days, I face a problem for JUKI electric feeder and machinery feeder. i do not know about any of electric feeder. until now, we all use machinery feeder for CF081ER 7' real holder and 15' real holder,CF03HPR ,FF12FS,FF16FS,AF24FS-OP. but this time when purchasing, someone told me the electric feeder is more compestive and higher efficency. he told CF081ER 7'and CF081ER 15' use 8mm electric feeder replace, and 12/16mm,24mm for ,FF12FS,FF16FS,AF24FS-OP. I do not know. does anyone can help?

My company uses both Juki electric and mechanical feeders. Yes, electric feeders are much more efficient than mechanical as far as pick speed and general feed speed. However, if a reel runs out, it usually takes our operators under a minute to change an 8mm reel on a mechanical feeder, and well over 3 minutes to change an 8mm reel on an electric feeder.

We have tried the Visker Electric feeders out (Yamaha & Juki)and they are nice and smooth, with a faster recovery rate, also adjustable pitch. However, with decent copy mechanical feeders at $60USD each it wasn't worth pursuing.

The Yamaha versions have a dual lane 8mm, which is whay we initally looked at it, but it filled 2x8mm slots anyway so we didn't take it any further at the time. We still have 1/2 a feeder bank converted and have been running them for about 10 months with no issues.

We use the Juki electric feeders, I have not seen the mechanical ones. The reel holder is the only problem we have had with these feeders(cheaply built). That said our operators are trained to change a feeder in less than one minute, (originally it was 3-7 minutes) If the operator knows it is a high load part they will have another feeder reeled up ready for a 5 second change-over.

My company uses primarily mechanical; electric are actually relatively new to us. I do agree that the reel holder is cheaply made, luckily we haven't had one break yet. Because of the longer load time for our operators, we do have feeders prepared for quick changeouts like you say. Since no one is quite good enough to change an electric feeder in under a minute, it's silly not to have spare feeders ready.
