Trying to find a laser marking machine. Thing is that most of my pcbs have white solder mask, so the when trying to read the 2D code is difficult due to the lack of contrast. Any idea? a different technology?

Hi Luis A white mask typically helps in the marking process since you are not reliant upon the PCB layers to create the contrast. Laser marking is really an etching process, so if your laser is set properly (power and focus) the goal with mask is to etch enough away so show the PCB color (green, blue, red, etc) underneath to create your contrast. Readability is also about how much information you are placing into how small of an area. If you pack too much data into a small area (let's say 0.25" sq) the mark may not be readable since it is crunched. You can also call us for more details - PROMATIONUSA
