Flex Circuit Cable | 18 July, 2001

What experiences have you had with flex circuits and what methods reducing strain relief are most common? Currently, we are using a epoxy to doctor strain by running a bead between the flex cable and the PCB. Also, we are covering the solder joint. I want to eliminate the epoxy and replace it with a premix cost effective adhesive . Is this possible? Comments?

Aaron, You may want to consider a bead of hot melt glue similar to that used by hobbyists. There are various formulations with different melting temps. Andy
