We are currently looking into purchasing the Dek vector guard system and would like any feedback from current users. Does the system hold up over time and does it break down often? Any info would be great!

Vector guard is ok. Advantage is the space you save on stencils. We have 6 frames - I had to repair some of them through the years of usage - basically some of the tubes inside warn out and have to be replaced. Of courcce they have some mechanical life too - I think this will be over 7-8 years of usage. One of my frames I tried to totally refurbish but still doesn't look/work like new. Good luck! Emil

I questioned reliability and longevity in beginning, we have used for 6 years, 4 frames, had to replace air bladder in one. We are pleased with performance. Storage space saving is biggest advantage.

We also have 4 frames,been using them for a couple years. just had to change a line yesterday. Easy to do, as long as you have the repair kit. Much easier than a QTS frame.

I've used the DEK Vector Guard system in the past. We had three of them and we did alot of change overs. They held up really well and our stencil storage went from rack upon rack upon rack to a very small space. It was worth the money and the performance was great as well.

We have not tried VectorGuard, so I cannot comment on that specific solution. However we have been using a Tecan Genesis system for several years and are very pleased with it. Unlike the DEK solution, the tensioning is entirely mechanical so there is very little to go wrong and very little maintenance. The reduced space requirements of a frame-less solution are invaluable and it means you can keep older stencils "just in case" without resenting the space they take up. Alpha also have the TetraBond system where the foil retains some protection with a very basic edging that protects it and you.
