Juki Operator Maintenance | 19 August, 2013

Does anyone have a list of what a Juki Operator should do as far as Maintenance? Any info would be helpful. I am just trying to compare what others are doing as far as what the operators are supposed to do. Thanks

Our operators do not do any maintenance aside from cutting tapes and emptying the reject cups.

There is 8 nipples on the X-Y frame that is used to grease the frame, I was told these need to be greased often, as if the bearings go dry and break down it would cost big money to replace the bearing. (not sure how this price compares to other machines)

You might notice after you greased it up, it will take more effort to push it around by hand. either when the power is off of the "servo" has been disabled by the panel button.

You could run that machine for Months, 24 hours a day 7 days a week without those linear bearings failing.

Believe me if you knew how long some of the old Fuji's were ran with NO maintenance you would not believe it.By the way...they are still running.

The person who told me the information was the "technical" partner who used to own half the company, & owned the machine and rented back to the company, about the time he retired, who had has hand in more than one electronic industry pie, over his working life has became a million air. He has on more one occasion impressed me in the speed of repair on the Juki machines, not been a Juki serviceperson, I am sure he did not get his information from web site forums.

Someone else I know who works across the other side of the city and runs the same machines also does the same maintenance on a regular bases.

Cleaning and lubrication requires maintenance training. You can really break something if you don't know what you are doing. For example you can break your expensive rubber nozzles or cameras with inappropriate cleaning.

Check: - Piping and joint - Air pressure - Air filters (head) - Air filter (calibration block) - Transfer belts and pulley - Power lamp and beacon

Clean: - X- and Y-axis - Transfer belts and pulley - Sensors - Nozzles - ATC bracket - Optional cameras and polarizing filter - Trackball - Remove any loose components inside the machine and trolleys

Lubrication: - X- and Y-axis - Transfer parts - Z-axis (head) - Nozzles - Support table
