Not sure exactly what you plan on inspecting with it, but in general my favorite is Cyberoptics. I've worked with Omron, YesTech, Mirtec, and Cyberoptics. Cyber is def my fav.

You need to define what it is you are inspecting for, and more importantly, what benefits you are trying to achieve with your acquisition of the technology? Inspecting post placement, post reflow, or both? Solder Joints? Through Holes? Part numbers? J-Leads? Fine pitch QFP? Little things like component styles, component overhang, required side angle inspections will drive you crazy if you do not choose the right machine. I have experince with both Mirtec and Yetech inline machines, and I would say that the Mirtec is a good all around choice for inline solder inspection, though you could throw a blanket over the Mirtec and Yestech machines, as far as the cost/value equations.

VIT 5K is the best. zero falls calls and effective for pre reflow process. Programming is very easy ( VI pro, edge, blob etc ) 4cm per fov.

Hi,

for me the best system AOI is SAKI because is not a head with a FOV but is a scaner. this scaner take the image board in a few seconds. This machine have many algorithm for inspect all errors on a board. But the interface is difficult and the programing requier a minimum of experience. Have test mirtec in deep, very easy for programing but is very limited in action.

Do a search for AOI on the forum. This question has been asked many times and there is plenty of information available on this forum to help you come to a good conclusion. We have two YesTech M1 systems. With most of the posts that I have read, there are two names that will always come up, and rightfully so since both systems seem to mirror one another, YesTech and Mirtec. I don't have any experience with Mirtec, but more people that have experience with both tend to prefer the Mirtec over the YesTech; although with varying reasons for their choice. But ultimately, you will have to decide which machine will work best for you in your application. Both companies will be willing to demo their units at your site; although YesTech, was the only company that did not have any qualms about leaving the AOI with us for a week (which is probably why they got the sale). Mirtec packed it up and left after one day.
