Convection Oven Reflow Modeling Simulations

Does anyone know of a SMT reflow modeling simulation that I could use as a baseline for reflow profiling? I'm looking for a quick means of setting up oven profiles for various oven sizes based upon board density (grams/sq in) and conveyor speed. Just looking for a quick and easy way to get started.

Thanks.

Hi Richard,

You can use "MOLE" profiler, an accelent profiling tool.

Good luck, Roni

Richard: As Roni said, most of the better profiler companies have the capabilties you seek

ECD is working on some tools in the area of determining the Ideal or most Robust Profile, for a given paste, oven configuration and conveyor speed. Translation of this "most robust profile" into actual oven setting requires more knowledge about the oven and the amount of heat or heat-flow it is able to deliver to the board, on a zone by zone basis. This usually requires some actual profiling of parts. If you are going to Apex you might try and hear Bob Rooks paper "Robust Reflow Profile Design".
