I am asking if I can assemble BGA components with my machine QP242.

My BGA spec :

Thankd in advance.

The QP242 is a modular placer. If you have the BS (single head)module with the MTU7 tray unit you can most definitely place this device. If you have the BI units with no tray tower it is doubtful.

Yes and no. If you are going to just look at the body of the part then yes. If you are going to look at the balls then probably not.

People will tell you that the QP will recognize balls which maybe true to some extent, but it will not do it over and over. The lighting systems on these machines are not designed for such applications.

You should always be doing 100% ball inspect with vision when it comes to BGA's.

revola, Yes you can as long as you have a type 4 or 7 line scan camera fitted(type 7 is best as improved lighting), Front or Rear loading is not important, Snr tech is right, lighting isn't great with this machine but the camera is the same as fitted to FIP3 so it can process & achieve the same accuracy in the right conditions if you have any problem or require help with BGA part data just let me know.

Dear All,

Thank you so much for your cooperation.

Actually am in continous problems with my BGA and can not assemble it using my QP242 till now, I am using the following data : Vision no. : 1 Vision Type: 230 Height: 2.32 Body Size X: 27.00 +-0.2 Body Size Y: 27.00 +-0.2 Check Window Area (Lead Check Area): 50% Pitch Limit: 30% Check Limit: 90% vision camera no : Rear vision size : Normal Scan Area X : 50 mm Scan Area Y : 50 mm Tolerance Pickup X: 0.0 Tolerance Pickup Y: 0.0 Tolerance Q : 1 degree Auto Offset : Yes Use P Pattern # 2 Result : 1 and 128 for the matrix. Width: 0.6 Length: 0.0 Pitch : 1.0 Lighting: 1 (frontlight A)

By using these data we get error (1CA00001) after checking for all balls in BGA .

and We use the following data :

Vision no. : 1 Vision Type:254 Height: 2.32 Body Size X: 27.00 +-0.2 Body Size Y: 27.00 +-0.2 Check Window Area (Lead Check Area): 50% Check Limit: 30% vision camera no : Rear vision size : Normal Scan Area X : 90 mm Scan Area Y : 90 mm Tolerance Q : 1 degree Lighting: 1 (frontlight A)

But we get error (1CAFE011)

When we use Vision Type:235 or 236 we get error (1CAEC042) once we send the program to QP242 M/C. So we can't use these vision types.

note :

when the machine boots,we checked the version on the lower monitor on the machine it was (FUJI MACHINE VERSION : 3.03)

We checked the machine version top screen ,it was (FUJI --------- V2.2A)

what more can I do ??

Thanks in advance !!
