I was wondering if anyone can tell me why we get a RS232 RECV TIME OUT, HIT A KEYCC. The only way to really get rid of the message is totally shut down the machine. If anyone has had this issue or may know what is wrong, please email me back. It does not do it all the time. Thanks

Michelle,

It's been years since I worked on these machines and mine were CS400E's. The next time this error comes up instead of powering down Unplug the RS232 cable that links between the PC and the processor board in the machine, I cant remember if it has a interface board between or not. See if it clears. Cable connections could be the culprit. Also, make sure your cooling fan filters are clean and your not building up heat in the cabinet. Typically when you start seeing intermitent issues with the CS400's its due to cable wear due to it spinning and moving with the clinch or leads have falling across electrical contacts. The RS232 cable never moves around so I would suspect connection.
