New to this forum and AOI. After an exhaustive search and review my company purchased our department a Mirtec MV-3L desktop AOI system. We use a combination of SMT and through-hole components in our product.

I am currently learning to program this system to inspect PWBs used in our product line to IPC-A-610 Class 3 standards and am looking for any information from folks using this type of system to help shorten the learning curve, either from people here, or if you know of an online forum dedicated to the subject, that would be helpful as well.

Thank you,

M.

What software version and build are you using, and were you lucky enough to get a manual for it?

How big are your moduals and what is your component density like?

Setting up a MV3-L for IPC 3 will take a serious investment in time for a operator with extensive computer experience.

For me to do a PCB right as far as setup could take 1 to 4 hours depending on density and detail(or if the machine crashes), and we don't do IPC persay, I just go by what I know will cause a issue or what is ok, occasionally i will reference IPC 2.

I have been running a MV3-L for 3 years and my programming experience (c,c++,basic) has helped a lot.
