Optical Scope for 5mils to 10mils Gap - Is there any Equipment ? | 7 May, 2010

I'm looking for an optical scope that can penetrate through a gap of 0.005" to 0.010". Is there anything available in the Electronics / Semiconductor Industry for this kind of application? I want to see what's inside that size of gap for solder shorts or solder formation.

Could you be looking for an endoscope with a 10 mil O.D? Not aware of anything that small. Am I reading you correctly? You are trying to peer into a 5 or 10 mil opening to see what's happenning inside of something? 'hege
