We are looking for lint free rags to clean our circuit boards with. We use these when processing no-clean flux the operators will use a de-fluxer apply it to a rag and use a brush along with the rag to pull the flux from the board. Does anyone have a good source for lint free rags? saponification is not an option as the boards can not be submerged in any liquid.

I would not call them rags but would call them lint free wipes. They are 100% cotton twill wipes. That means they won't leave a residue even when wiping thruhole components, you would think they would tear but they don't. Most high quality jeans are made of the same fabric. Call the Waveroomplus 603-437-4651 we have them.

Questions are: * Are these lint-free rags ESD-protected? * How do these lint-free rags remove the flux that seeps under components? * Have you considered flux pens as an alternative to your current process?

-Are these lint-free rags ESD-protected = yes, must be. I left that out thanks! -How do these lint-free rags remove the flux that seeps under components = no matter its a no-clean material and we are removing for esthestics only. -Have you considered flux pens as an alternative to your current process? =That’s what we are using, however we have some heavy handed folks!!!

Don't think so ... Let's be clear. Low residue fluxes are benign only if: * Applied in amounts according to the supplier's recommendations. [If you're sopping this stuff-up with rags, we don't think that it's deposited correctly.] * Heated to the supplier's recommended activation temperature. [The flux at the solder connection is probably heated properly, but the rest that's away from the connection and under components ... we don't think so.]
