Cp-6 reads only two fiducials? | 29 March, 2010

Hi All,

I just realized that our CP-6 is reading only two of three fiducials. Is this normal? The coordinates are not the same and they're numbered 1,2,3. We use the MCS30. I checked the proper data and I couldn't see anything that would cause it to do that. We also have a CP-65 that is not yet fully operational. It does the same thing. I can make it go to sequence (either CP-6 or CP-65) one after it reads the first fiducial and it will go to all three fiducials that way but when I put the PCB on the in-conveyor and do either a step or auto ... the darn thing only reads two of three fiducials. No matter how I re-arrange the lines. This sounds so silly .... what am I missing?

Within your placement program, what do you have set for your Main Mark and Sub Marks for each placement

We seemed to have a serious gap of information in this area. The technician found out about this MM, MN, SM stuff and we're reading and learning about them. We didn't use MM or SM for anything. I guess there is a price to pay for not having the proper trainning :-).
