Universal GSM - working without a manual!

Universal GSM - working without a manual! | 9 April, 2009

I'm working with a GSM machine and have a question -

How do I go about using a local fid to act as a bad mark? Is that even the way to go about it? I have a stack of board here with one or more badmarks and it is a waste of time to keep modifying the circuit list when there is an easier way.

Thank you!

USOS software has ability to detect bad marks on the PCB. Just select an arbitrary area clear of components and apply a sticker to that place. The size of the sticker is not important, as you can define the search area. In the Product Editor, go to circuit list and select the circuit on which you want to perform bad circuit sense. Then, from the menu select Bad Sense - see the attached screenshot. I think it's pretty self-explanatory. I usually define very small search area (5mm) so I can apply 10mm sticker easily and set the threshold level to 100. That, of course, depends on the colour of you PCB etc.
