Silicone Grease where is it used? | 10 September, 2008

I just purchased a soldering station and it came with the silicone grease for the desoldering gun and say's for cleaning spring filter and filter pipe, now do I just smooth this grease all over the spring and tube the spring goes in?

Depending on the design, some use grease to reduce air leakage on: * Filter tubes * Gaskets or O-rings * Threads
