Does Anybody Know What Time It Is? | 28 March, 2001

Just got off the phone after bustin' my brother-in-law about the article in USA Today about all the goofy time zones in the US state of Indiana. Then I saw:

* SMTnet Forum time is about a half hour late

* SMTnet time on this message I'm posting on is about 8 minutes late

* SMTnet E-Mail time is about 8 minutes late.

Wierd, eh?

yep it was a match for me. But don't you know that it _always_ works when tech support looks at it?

I'll still take a look at it..

The left menu displays the time that the browser window was opened or last refreshed. (notice that it does not tick) This is taken from the server's internal clock. These clocks are notoriously inaccurate. I'm looking into synchronizing the clock automatically. (I just did a sync and it was about 8 minutes off, Thanks Dave)

Emails get popped off from the server once every ten minutes and a timestamp is applied to them at that time. So those may never be perfectly accurate.
