I am trying to do a "sanity check" on an SMT hourly consulting rates. The work requires expertise in SMT process, IPC inspection guidelines and as well as hand assembly. The work would be performed in China but needs to be performed by an American. Travel rates are also being quoted.

Thanks

I have a pretty good system for my counsultency rates of charge. It is a multi-tire system so to speak.I took a seminar on value stream mapping which is how come I know this stuff.I catgorize my consulting fees by area of expertise of course. Example, if its any matter wave related I charge my premium rate of $20 an hour not sure what that comes out to in Euros or Wuen. For matters wave related the customer typllacy expects near zero-defect soldering yields and my rates will vary pending what I eventually get them down to.For China travel I expect full compensation on all travel expenses and entertainment alike. The china trips are the best all-though my last client thru the interpretor told me he didnt want me back in the facility. I think they misunderstood what my mission was and they didnt understand the deployment process. Anyway, enough tech-talk. Email me specially for matters wave related.

WML,

I just wonder why they didnt want you back, didnt they like your "outside the box" thinking? Or was your entertainment bill to high? lol

I have never had the need , but I would expect to pay between $75 - $150/hr for consulting.

"...my explainations and words tend to confuse people."

That's a shocker. Your message is loud and clear at this end.
