Hellow there, I need some help with a very old CP machine. It worked great until this past week. All of sudden it stoped woking. It does not index the feeder during production.I checked rotary selonoids already in the CAM box for first station and nozlze change 11th station.I also checked the I/O card for operation. And when I tell it to run nozzle center, it just goes on and on without ever stoppping. Now if I change the nozzles from small to large manually, machine knows what nozzle it is looking at with a nozzle dection sensor.Any input will be well appriciated. Thanks

This is a shot in the dark because it has been years since I worked on a CP3.

I believe that there is a flag on the turret. As the turret makes a full revolution this flag must make pass through a sensor. If this sensor is not functioning or if the flag is gone, I believe it will cause what you are describing.

hello Vikkaraja,

your machine failed to pickup & centering test refuses to stop because the machine cannot determine which Head is currently at which station. on Head A, there is this little "dog" that cuts a sensor somewhere at station 9 on your machine during turret rotation. this sensor tells the machine that Head A is currently at station 9, Head B at station 8, Head C at station 7 so on..... please check the functionability of this sensor via I/O and ensure there isn't any grease or foreign particles that causes the sensor to activate. hope the above helps. for Fuji support & spares, kindly write direct to :- apexservice@apexsmt.com

Thank you both. Machine is up and running. I never thought that sensor could cause that much head ache. You will think since sensor is not working machine would error out,but not CP3. Thanks again.

Hey, and guess what? A CP6-4000 will do the same thing. Fuji hasn't changed that technology one iota since the CP3 days.
