Stencil Thicknes vs. actual solder height measurements | 11 December, 2007

Hi,

If I were working with a 75 um thick stencil, Is there a spec. as to what the maximum value allowed on actual solder height measurements? Stencil type: Laser cut and electropolished Solder paste type: Type 4 Sn-Sb

Would the measured values vary with type of components or would be a universal spec. irrespective of the component types?

Would the measured values and spec. be different between SMD and NSMD board designs?

There is no specification for solder paste height, just as there is no specification for paste volume. Focus on producing a fillet that meets J-STD-001. You make the choices that produce the end result.
