I am needing to know if anybody uses a Reflow oven Chain oil that doesn't create a horrible smell. Whenever we put this oil on it burns off and smells like I am stuck at a stop light behind a car with bad rings. I have looked at several oils that advertise "high temp, good to 200C" our reflow oven is running above that due to our Lead-Free process.

When we bought our Heller reflow oven, the installation technician recommended using Oberon chain lube part # 680784(0) when we needed to purchase more oil for our chain. I just went to the oberonlube.com website and could not find that part number. (The part number may be a Heller number.) What I did find was Oberon part # F232 which is a high temperature synthetic base chain oil. From the description there it looks like it should work for reflow ovens.

This is the stuff BIG boys [and girls] use.

FYI: This seems to be worse depending on the oven....I think it may have to do with the way the machine exhaust. I have used the Fuchs on our Omniflow and on our XPM's.(Pb Free profiles) The Omniflow stinks the whole shop up....the Vitronics do not smell at all.

We use Biral B10-30. It smokes and smells the first time the oven heats up after oiling the chain. What we do is open up the windows and turn on a floor fan so the smoke blows out.

I talked to someone regarding the Biral oil and they said that they have had a problem with it "jelling up" when exposed to oxegen. Has this been a problem for you as well? I ordered some Stabylyn 773ND from Vitronics. I hope this stuff works for 57.00 bucks a pint.... Thanks to all, wayne

The Biral is supposed to gel up. Thats what keeps it from dripping off. It's kinda like motorcycle chain oil in that regard.
