Does anyone know of a small machine (table top would be nice) that could be used to wash mis-prints or small batches of boards? We have 2 inline systems but they are DI only and once and a while a soaponified system would be nice. Looking for spray or ultrasonic.

Thanks

The best method of cleaning misprinted boards is with a stencil cleaner. I would not recommend the use of a spray-in-air system for misprints. Spray systems can cause solder paste to become embedded into vias and under components (if double sided). Additionally, if a spray-in-air system does not capture a solder ball, it may be blasted onto a populated assembly on future batches causing major issues.

Spray-in-air defluxers, specifically batch format, are ideal for post reflow defluxing. Never combine misprint cleaning with post reflow defluxing. This is a recipe for disaster.

My recommendation: Purchase an ultrasonic stencil cleaner (under $ 10K) for your stencils and misprints and a chemical-compatible batch-format defluxer for post-reflow cleaning.

I hope this helps.

The only tabletop stencil cleaner I know of is from Smart Sonic. Their Model 500. Here is a link:

I can help with a Misprint cleaner for 12"x18" PCB's bench model machine for around 1500 Dollars not ultrasonics please contact off line for details and I will email brochure etc. If its a conveyorised spray you are looking for then a bench mounted machine is available from another English company called P&G Processors, I think they are around 10K Dollars but has an integral rinse as well. Best of luck BLT Circuit Services Ltd England
