BGA Rework Station - Profiler | 5 May, 2007

i'm looking for BGA Rework Station - Temp Profiler for ERSA. Rit now i facing problem the Temp profile easy to drift from initial setting. Hope some one can advise me what type of Temp Profiler suitable for Ersa BGA Rework station. Hope the profiler equip with port for 5 wire termocouple.

why not use your std profiler that you use for your ovens? if you want real time then hook it up to the PC running the ersa or stick the software on the laptop. If you suspect that your profile is drifting you need to get yourself a good repeatable test unit for measuring, reusing an old PCB for temp profiling is a problem as it will breakdown, I tend to find BGA stations kill them even quicker. Also check your air supply isn't drifting up or down and doesn't have excess moisture in it.

For ur information, this BGA machine was full utilize every day. I have more than 100 model to do profiling every week. Different PCBA with different thickness & material need different temp setting. currently i'm looking for profiler that more compatible with ERSA machine, which mean that profile can trigger the BGA station where the temp was out of setting. 1 pc of PCBA scrap due to BGA rework process will cost to our operation.

I've been looking into BGA rework stations. I have narrowed it down to two:

Summit 750 by VJ Electronix

APR-5000-XLS by OK International

They both have easy to use profiling and have a good robustness as far as maintaining your profile.

Our company will begin evaluating BGA machines pretty soon. It takes too much time to send the boards back to our conract house for rework. Can you provide some numbers as to how much the Summit 750 and APR5000XLS cost?
