Hello everyone,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for barcoding PCB's? We run high volume with very small boards with not alot of room for labels. Maybe 2d CO2?

Any ideas or experiences would be appreciated.

Thanks, Tim

Use a CO2 laser to burn away parts of silk screen patch on the board.

Search the fine SMTnet Archives for background => co2 and laser

I'd also recommend Control Micro Systems;4420 Metric Drive; Winter Park, Florida. We've been using one of their CO2 lasers for years to put a 2D code on our PCBs. 2D will save a lot of room and I'm told you can store more data. The laser drastically reduced our downtime due to normal print and apply labels.
