I was asked to get our phillips topaz suited up with an internal tray feeder. The problem is I can't find one anywhere.Is there any clues as to where I might find one?

Imagine you put two 8mm feeders on the rear feeder plate, they are about the same distance apart as the length of your tray. On top of these feeders are two slotted arms that allow you to move the arms towards the moveable rail. You place your tray on top of these arms and this still allows you to put feeders in between the two "tray" feeders. Send me your email and I'll send you some photos. So you get your local machine shop to make up these attachments. Just keep in mind that the finished product should not be above the rail height with the tray attached. A little imagination and you might be able to do it out of some clapped out feeders. Alternatively, just make up a base out of old trays and place it inside the machine (if you have room).

I contacted philips/assembleon and they said it was 1,200 new I think we might end up going this route, I've stacked up old trays before, would rather not restrict the amount of feeders I can load, but you're right it will get yah by in a pinch. thanks for the suggestions. we might just have our in house machine shop make us one.

They must have ended up with a bunch of them in stock because they never quoted a price that low to us, of course Im getting older and my memory is not that great anymore. If you have even decent machine shop, make your own. The factory one is made of mostly sheet metal and is not flat enough for reliable picks. You will end up moving some of the parts around to get them all to pick from a tray.

At my last job, I ran a phips topaz with an internal tray feeder ,that we put in, and the only problem we had was getting the thing level after it was level we didn't experience any difficulty but the one we had was made from machined aluminum. I already ordered it so I hope it isn't a piece of Sh#*. thanks to both cmiller and darby for your help.I appreciate it.

Are you referring to a feeder or just a platform to place trays on? I'm looking at a used Topaz purchase right now and am trying to make sure I understand the language. Have you tried any of the refurb houses for this stuff?

I am talking about an internal tray holder It holds two trays. the lingo doesn't really matter because if you say Internal tray feeder/holder the guys at philips will know exactly what you're talking about. I checked several refurb places and the only internal tray feeders/holders they had were on equipment.Most the refurb places I checked out were had more equipment than attachments.Its ok though I bought one from assembleon.
