Hover-Davis DDF, what are your opinions? | 23 January, 2001

Hello, I'm currently in the process of determining the best way to place bare die (flip chip) on our substrates. I've seen the Hover-Davis DDF and was impressed by it's capabilities. I particularly like the fact that I won't incur the cost of packaging the die into matrix trays.

Do any of you out there have an opinion one way or the other on this machine? I am going to be using a Universal GSM and the die for now are 1mm X 1.3MM approx. We may be going to other sizes if this project works.

I've seen the Laurier and wasn't too thrilled about the size as we may need to have several die on one machine in the future.

Any comments would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hoover-Davis makes excellent feeders. You may want to also try http://www.delawaretechnologies.com/prd_smtf.htm The person to speak with is Don Dawson 609-235-8454. Deleware Technologies makes feeders for most placement machines. Cal

You will find that the DDF feeder was developed around the GSM platform and should be an ideal fit for your application. Email me and I can provide you with contact information and users.
