I need a QUAD QSP-2 Question answered | 7 April, 2006

I would like to freeze feeders on a global basis. I am tired of table changeovers everytime I run a different board. A good example is today I ran 1 board which went well. I wanted to run a board behind it that had 99% the same parts. I am not necessarily concerned about. I know there is a freeze option, however the problem I have is that if I freeze the table and then reload another program it disregards the feeders I froze in the previous program.

Can anyone offer some input into this situation. Thanks in advance for your posts.

You can either optimize both boards from the very start to the same table top or you can assign the feeders under configure tabletop to the same spot that they were in when you optimized the first program. Remember that you can optimize many different boards to one table top as long as you have the feeder space!!!!

Good luck

oh....one more....you could also just assign your new board to the table top you want to use and just do an incremental opt. but there must be enough feeder space

Sounds like you have a non-IQ system?

If you can, get one! It makes life much easier. Costly, though!

Anyway, as stated above, your best bet is to assign multiple boards to the same table top. If the two boards are 99% similar, use a full optimization and go from there. That way, one board won't be unequally optimized.

We have the IQ system. The problem that I was having is that when I load one board to the other, I want to avoid the table top changeovers. So I figure if I can make certain tabletops to run certain boards the changeovers would be much less. I thought originally that I could load all the boards we build to one table top and never have to replace feeders.

You can do that if you have enough feeder space....but i doubt it unless you have a lot of machines in line.
