Chris, You asked if others are having these issues. I know for sure they are. I am not with Count On, but we make nozzles also. Cree has published drawings of the recomended nozzles in their "Soldering and Handling Guides" for several years. We made nozzles for all type of machines according to those drawings out of both stainless or black PEEK plastic depending on the vision requirements. These worked fairly well up to about a year or year and half ago, then we started getting reports of parts sticking to the nozzles. We understand Cree made some changes to not only the silicon dome, but also to the conformal coating on the base. Several months ago Cree started recomending the use of Teflon on some nozzles in their guides. We just made some XML nozzles for a Quad machine last week and their guide did not recomend the Teflon, so we tried it in stainless and the LEDs stuck no matter how much I polished the internal angle that contacted the dome. We made 2 more with Teflon inserts and the nozzles then released fine in our tests. I am waiting to hear if they work as well on the machine. Fred Nozzle Supply Company
