We're not so sure that IPC wants to get involved in a DFM/DFT document, because many of the items [eg, keepouts, board size, etc] are peculiar to a company process and equipment.

The following is a list of items to be included in any DFM guideline as a minimum [Step 1: Design for Manufacture; Buttars, S; Surface Mount Technology (SMT) January, 2003]: * General Design Criteria. * Component Selection Criteria. * Land Patterns. * Component Orientation. * Spacing Requirements ("Keep Out" Zones). * Soldering Considerations. * Fabrication Specifications. * Applicable Industry Specifications.
