I wanted to hear from users of the SN100C alloy to find out what they think is positive and negative about this lead free alloy. Thanks, Keith

What I know for SN100 - it is designed for selective sodering. I beleave it is more expensive, compared to other alloys. Emil

We use SN100C for wave soldering and hand Lead free soldering and have had very good results. The wire cored solder for hand soldering flows good and makes very good solder joints. The SN100C in the wave solder machine also works very good. We use SAC305 paste for SMT Lead free and then use the Sn100C for all wave and hand Lead free soldering on the same boards. Our SN100C supplier is AIM Solders.

The AIM SN100C is lower cost than the SAC305 for use in the wave solder machine and the wire cored solder is not much more than Sn63 Tin/Lead solder.

We use the SN100C on Lead free HASL, immersion Gold and immersion Silver PC board finishes and have not had any customer complaints about bad solder joints.
