My Apology To Manufacturing Automation! | 2 June, 1999

To All Who read My bashing of the Placemax equipment line, I am posting this apology because it was brought to my attention by the owner of the company that I was out of line. That my bashing was not just! I gave it some thought and he is right! I do not know his whole equipment line so I shouldn't talk bad as if all the products are bad. They sell higher end models that might be much better. I did not have the latest model. I had the 3000. So I will not retract my comments on that! I also promise not to use this forum in such an unprofessional manner again. As to have to post threads that are unrelated to why we are here! As for my comments on warranties? If a company does not wish to issue a warrenty on their product than I guess that's up to them. They shouldn't be burned at the stake for it like I tried to do.I will be more careful of this in the future. So if any of you have had a good experience with you Placemax pick&place then I am sorry to you as well.

Sincerely, Jeff sanchez

It is tough not to editorialize our opinions (I've done it) on equipment and companies that have caused us grief in the past. I wouldnt want your apology to prevent somebody from stating issues they have had with certain equipment. As long as the facts are stated with regard to the model of the equipment used, service issues, and problems associated with the equipment.

Nobody should take what is said on the Forum as gospel, take the information and use it in youre research.

What I am trying to say is, if somebody came on the forum and said he had problems with the service from The Acme Part Placer Company, Then call other users and see if they have had problems also. Or even call them yourself and see if somebody answers the phone and is actually knowledgeable on the equipment (I recently called a service number and after trouble shooting for a half hour the service tech stated he had never actually seen this equipment but he had a manual).

Just my Two cents

I've made a few comments on this forum (though factual) that actually had one company come visit my President! Oh, the truth hurts... caused them to have to scramble on a couple of sales. But now they are a more truthfull and better company.

But, if a company gets SOOO arrogant that they think they can stomp on the small companies what is a person to do? Where do you go? Where does it stop? If there's a problem, you need to ask for support/help/comments/etc...

I've posted a message on the web issues side to ask for feedback to see it there's room to talk about these very real issues that some want to pussy foot around. But Pandora could run amuck; lawyers could be salivating, markatiers could have to run for cover and we'd have waaay too much information to make a decision... sigh.

State the facts, read with grains of salt, no apology required.

Cheers, Scott

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff

I do believe you are apologising to the man that said he could not provide you with the software to make your equipment work because he was caught violating his development license.

He confessed to being broke, and had to charge each of his "inoperable" equipment owners $300.00, to aquire the software license nessicary to make their purchases initially functional.

Jeff, you are entirely nice.
