Hi all,

Why doesn't the ATT teach all the same part numbers some times? The PCB I'm working with has several resistors 0805. I place the footprint over the part and sometimes it goes to all resistor of the same part number. But then I teach another part and sometimes it would teach all and some other it stops after a few or just one. It doesn't happen very often but the only way I know how to fix it is to manually drag the footprint over each part. Is there a better way? BTW I can understand if the parts are really shifted but this is not the case. They are not perfectly centered but the shift is about 5% (or less) sideways.

Thanks

Rodrigo I am the service manager of Mirtec. When your using ATT It tries to match the saved image to what is on the board. If the area isnt a good match, it will not program the part. At the bottom of the ATT window, select the tab labeled 'mmd file and parameter'. Then check the box to 'insert part at current position if not matched' This will disregard if the match is good or not, and program the part anyway. Then you can use 'teach all' option to teach everything on the board. Steve

Thanks for the reply. I understand the second owner package is $6k plus travel fees. Is there another option for getting the newer software ... at a much lower price? Is the newer software that much better than the one we're using? A do-it-yourself kind of a deal would work better for us if the price is right. At $6k++, it is just not an option for us.

Thanks
