We recently got a job where (after placing SMT parts) we have to solder LED dot-matrix 8x8 display modules manually on the pcb. Due to the PCB design, it has to be TH type (also, it's the only type available) and soldered manually (or using selective soldering equipment which we don't posess). But the worst part is that the module pins have to be cut (shortened) after soldering. Each has 16 pins, and there are 6 of them on the PCB. So, 96 cuts per PCB. As we have to make A LOT of them, I am wondering if there's maybe some kind of machine that can shorten the pins before soldering?
