Assembleon / Ipulse / Mydata... opinions? | 25 June, 2008

Hi, My company is comparing some P&P machines to make a purchase very soon. We need a real throughput of about 25k cph ( not IPC, but real ). So we have these options for our product: Assembleon AX-301 IPC 50k cph real 28K cph Ipulse M7-2 IPC 33k cph real 26K cph Mydata MY100 + MY9 IPC 45k cph real 25k cph

The second option is the cheapest, but I'm not sure about the machine, because it is a very new model. Anyone knows about this machine? And the other Ipulse models? About Assembleon, It's more expensive, but it's worth to spend more money on this machine? The last machine (MY100) is also a new model. The three options could be nice for us, but we want to get the best relationship price/quality.

I have no experience with Assembleon or Ipulse but we have run an older model Mydata machine for several years now. Mydata has good tech support and their machines work well with a medium to high product mix, i.e. short change over times between jobs.

I would probably go with the Assembleon. It is a very well built machine with good software. I don't know Ipulse, but I've worked on the other 2. The newer cheaper machines could have problems. With potential down time, the difference could pay for itself in no time. Also keep in mind support, feeder quality, and spare parts pricing.

Hi, I know both Ipulse and Mydata but I have no experience with Philips ass. I pulse is own by Yamaha and most design change to Yamaha but Yamaha retain the capability, so if you are looking for machine capability I would suggest for I pulse, On the other hand if you are located in tropical island, please do not by Mydata, design is not suitable for hot weather. Although, I believed your production area is air-condition you will still hard time for the future trouble. This is just my opinion and experience. If you can talk to one of the Mydata rep ask them about MX TECHNOLOGY in the Philippines and they will remember it. If you are running mid volume production but high mix I would suggest buying modular type like Juki, Yamaha, Ipulse, and others.

Hi,

all of them are good machines. The others talked more about ass and mydata. I-pulse is also a good machine. A friend of mine bought one 6 months and is happy with it. Just not sure about the model. Did you send them a board? You should do that in order to check the real speed. May be some of them can't really reach speed, that you need.
